I am thrilled to be taking my next academic journey at Kalamazoo College! I will be majoring in Psychology at K and majoring in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in the summers at WMU in order to prepare for graduate school. 

 

When I visited K, I watched a Psych 101 class with Dr. Boatwright. I was intrigued by the social justice discussion that occurred and how it tied into Psychology. Social justice is something that I am very passionate about and excited to explore further at K. I am driven to become a speech-language pathologist in part because I have empathy for those who are different and am motivated to help them in any way that I can.  

A big part of the culture at K is driven by social justice. The Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership is an open, accepting, diverse location on campus that I am excited to get involved with!

    • Demonstrates my high school career/skill set because my partner and I analyzed photosynthesis, a biological process that is more complex than it seems, and creatively broke it down into terms that children can understand. It also took a lot of time management to do this project as we had a one-week time frame to complete it.
