Nijinski cabin 2016 with French exchange student
6 years
I have become close friends with a foreign exchange student from France. Despite the language barrier, my empathy in her culture shock journey comforted her and made her feel much more welcome in the US. We are still in touch today! I love languages and understanding their roots and grammar, so I would love to major in Linguistics in college! I believe that no matter what language you speak, you deserve to communicate with others. I am not sure what I want to specialize in yet, but I am considering working with ESL students.
Future counseling position-
Even though it would take up my entire summer, I love music and children too much to pass on an opportunity like counseling at my favorite place! I would miss camp too much, as it has been a huge part of my childhood since middle school. I have met a lot of friends and developed the confidence I now have, musically and personally, at Blue Lake.

Sophomore year
Bye Bye, Birdie allowed me to take a leap outside of my comfort zone and finally sing on stage, as I have always wished to do, but never had the same confidence I have in performing instrumental music prior to sophomore year. I wish I had had more time to explore this aspect of theatre, although every role, cast, pit, or tech, is important! As much as I love playing my instruments, Bye Bye, Birdie is also where some of my best memories of the last four years were born.
